INT 4
INT is Minimalen's international competition for short films from across the globe, excluding the Nordic countries. 36 of the world's best new short films have been selected and will be presented across six programs.
The directors will be introduced immediately after the screening, giving the audience an opportunity to ask questions.
The awards ceremony takes place on Saturday evening.
Jury

SVEN SCHWARZ
The Managing Director of Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg since 2010, where he also curates special programmes. Board member of the international Short Film Conference and part of the Hamburg-based collective A Wall Is a Screen, which presents short films in public spaces worldwide.

ANNA LIAN
Screenwriter based in Trondheim, primarily working with feature-length and short fiction. She teaches idea and script development at NTNU and has written short films that have won numerous awards nationally and internationally. Her short film Baby Blues had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025.

KORNÉL SZILÁGYI
Avant-garde filmmaker working primarily with analogue techniques, best known for his long-standing collaboration with Nándor Hevesi under the names Igor & Ivan Buharov - shown at major international exhibitions and biennials. Szilágyi also directs sound works and documentaries, and is a member of the Berlinale Shorts Selection Committee.

ANCESTOR
By drawing upon the spiritual iconography of the Bété people and other tribal groups in the Ivory Coast, the film examines the divine female figure in West African sculpture. These forms, traditionally found in wooden and bronze sculptures, are translated into animation through charcoal drawings and frame-by-frame relief engraving on copper.

BEING JOHN SMITH
After enduring many decades of embarrassment and discomfort, the artist finally admits to the negative impact that possessing the commonest name in the English-speaking world has had on his psyche. Peppered with disparate fragments of autobiography, the film takes us on a confessional journey that reveals just how important a name can be.

ALIȘVERIȘ
Tatiana, an unemployed woman, spends her days selling her personal things in order to survive. Today she has an important deadline and she might end up selling a piece of her body in order to keep a roof over her head.

AS IF THE EARTH HAD SWALLOWED THEM UP
Olivia, a young woman living abroad, returns to her hometown in Mexico in the hope of reconnecting with her past.

WHERE TIME STOOD STILL
A widowed mother and daughter’s ascetic life in an isolated village in the Caucasus mountains is interrupted by the arrival of a foreign traveler in need of shelter. His presence awakens an erotic longing in both women.
